De Tarot of the Old Path is geïllustreerd door Sylvia Gainsford (die ook de Tarot of the Northern Shadows op haar naam heeft staan) en zij heeft zich laten inspireren door "Insights and inspirations for self realization and creative participation in the development of planetary consciousness. A modern presentation of the old path of female wisdom, based on the experiences of eight 'Witches' from England and the U.S." Dit deck is een ode aan de vele tarot readers die zich bezighouden met Wicca, ook wel 'The Old Religion' of 'The Old Path' genoemd. Gainsford is lid van de 'Fellowship of Isis' en heeft zich bij het tot stand komen van dit deck laten adviseren door acht heksen. De Tarot of the Old Path is uitgebracht door US Games in 1990.
